Day 5
We woke up at 7:45 am to go to the ampitheater for some free cofee and hot chocolate. Best coffee in awhile, it was cowboy coffee (coffee grounds and all). We had breakfast burritos for breakfast and Jordan helped cook. Later we went to the Wawona Hotel so that I could charge the camera and video camera while Brent and the kids went to Mariposa Grove. The Wawona Hotel was gorgeous! Very Historic:) A couple hours later they came back with a big thumbs down. I guess the tour was quite expensive and the walk was way too long for the kids. Considering we already had our share of Sequoia's it was no biggie. We then went back to camp for PB & J's, dried apples and cracker mix. After lunch we headed to the river to go swimming. It being so dang hot and humid in Yosemite, the water felt great! The kids had a blast swimming along with Brent and I. Brent, Jordan and I took our turns swimming up stream so that we could move down stream with the current. This was basically our bath for the last few days. We hung out at the river for a couple hours and headed back to camp to make dinner-pasta with alfredo sauce. We waited to finish dinner and baths early so that we could drive up to Glacier Point for sunset. We drove up to Glacier Point and got there right before sunset. Breathtaking, you could see the whole valley below, half dome lit up by the sunset, Yosemite Falls and all the other mountains. About an hour later we headed back to camp for bed.
