Christmas 2013

Its been a busy Christmas this year.  First we started out with a Christmas party for the kids which I don't have posted on here but I will get some pics posted soon.  Then I had our annual Christmas tea for 4 of my good friends.

The tea set up went with the Santa theme

The place cards and favors

The sandwiches, Grilled Munester Cheese with cranberry and orange sauce; Pear, cream cheese and alfalfa sprouts; and favorite, pita bread with Jicama Apple Hummus slaw

The salad, Quinoa with fresh fruit and honey lime mint sauce

Persimmon scones

Dessert, Mint merignes, strawberries with vanilla cream cheese filling and pumpkin bread pudding

Then we went to Disney on Ice. Not at all my favorite year, but it is a tradition for us girls to go.

Then we went to the North Pole Express in Fillmore. This was a complete blast and I think might have to be a tradition

The train we rode on.  They were all vintage trains which made it even more special

Santa clause boarded the train with us and started handing out candy canes to the kids

Presley couldn't believe that Santa was there!
On the way back we sung Christmas carols and this was by far Kayleigh's favorite thing!

Got to sit with Santa and get some pics. Journey was telling him what she wanted for Christmas

So far we have had a great Christmas.  I of course didn't get to cards again this year, but hopefully maybe I will, who knows!

Co op

I haven't posted in forever!! I seriously have so much to update on I do not know where to start.  First of all, Jordan is a senior.  Holy cow I have a 17 yr old! that is a Senior!  Nuts!  Plus we started our co op again this year at first we had like 9 families, but after some drama we down sized to 5 families, which was really a God sent.  We have 8 preschoolers, 2 1st graders and 5 3rd graders.  We do language arts, math, science and history.  For history, we are studying states and every other week my girls need to share a project and a food made from that state.  It's a lot of fun.  I am in charge of the preschoolers and as you can imagine, I am loving it!  I will post some pics of what we have been up to.  First of all we always start out with music time and then we roll into a story going with the theme we are working on.  After that we usually do an edible craft and then some sort of worksheet that has to do with the theme and math or sorting or something of learning.  Then we go into sensory bins that again go with the theme, then we do a craft and then a science experiment.  We always have outside play as well of course.  Here are some themes we did....
