Our beautiful Presley

A friend of mine did our little Presley's newborn pictures yesterday, marking her at 2 1/2 weeks old in these pictures. She did an amazing job and these are only a taste of some of the pictures we are going to get. She has amazing talent!

Presley is doing amazing and sleeps quite a bit. She is growing already like a weed. To think on Sunday I was to be induced, but she decided to come 3 1/2 weeks earlier than we thought. I have finally got most of my house in order and just have a couple other things to get together. We have all adjusted well. We thought Journey would be jealous but she could actually care less. Trinity cares sometimes and Kayleigh is our little mamma. Jordan has been in Big Bear visiting his Grandparents for the past month, so he will meet her for the first time tomorrow. Other than that, everything has been fine and doesnt seem much different. I suppose when she is mobile it will be quite different having 5 kids.

Crazy Mamma

I know I have tons of hormones going on in me right from just having Presley, but I serious broke yesterday. On the outside, my husband probably thought I was pretty crazy. During our hospital stay, Presley became pretty jaundice so they put her on lights overnight. Her numbers came back fine the next day and they allowed us to go home on Tuesday, but wanted us to have her retested on Thursday. I was noticing that something just wasn't right with our little Presley. She slept literally all the time, I even had to wake her up for feedings. So on Thursday I was more than happy to get her retestesd. At around 2 pm, my doctor gave me a call and told me I needed to get her down to the hospital as soon as I could cuz her level was up to 19.2 (20-30 being critical). I think it was at that point I just lost it and started balling. I wasn't really so much worried about her health, since it was only jaundice and could be easily fixed. My drama was that I just couldnt get anything done at home and now here I am again having my in laws watch my kids. Dont get me wrong they have done awesome, but they haven't been giving Journey her naps and the two days I was home, getting her to take a nap was a nightmare. So now here we go again with another 2 days of her probably not getting a nap, which could mean all together she just might not take them anymore, I need her to take her naps! On top of that, my a/c has been broken forever! I tried to have it fix and this guy from our church came out and fixed it, but it would keep popping fuses, so he would fix something else, and then something else, needless to say we are out of money for that a/c and nothing really got solved. On top of that we had carpet put in on Wednesday and I was admitted into the hospital that next day, so putting anything way from getting the carpet hasn't happened and my house is a complete disaster! On top of that, Presley being 4 weeks early I hadn't had the chance to go grocery shopping so making a meal or anything else has been difficult and I haven't been able to make it to the store since. And on top of that, all of Presley's clothes, blankets and so forth are in storage and Brent and I haven't been able to get those out and get them washed. And one more on top of that, our carseat is old and we need another one. We thought we could get by with it with one more kid, but the hospital said that it was bit old and we should get another one. So my stress level is 0! My mom is in Big Bear and can't come down until Wednesday. I am needing her more than ever right now.

Now that I am in the hospital with Presley, who knows when I will get it all done. They aren't at all too happy that I am here, the nurses that is. They can't understand why I am staying the day and night with her! Really?! They can't understand why I want to be with my daughter?! First of all I am breastfeeding, I don't want to supplement with formula and why should I when I can breastfeed her. They suggested I pump, but I dont get as much from pumping as I do from her, so why would I even dare to take that risk of me drying out from lack of producing enough. Seriously, I feel like I am totally in the way, but the way I look at it I am making there job one hell of alot easier. I am changing her diapers, I am taking her temperature, I am feeding her, when she cries I am attending to her. All they have to do is make sure her IV is going great and weigh her diapers. If anything you would think they would be appreciative that I was here. Whatever, I am staying, although it sucks, I must admit. No TV, sleeping in a recliner in a teeny room that I can't be on the phone in or eat or drink in, but I will do whatever for my Presley. I know she likes me being her too.

Baby Presley Dawn Linkous is here!

Our baby Presley Dawn Linkous is here and here is how it all went down.....
For the past week I have noticed that I was leaking, it wasn't alot but it was there. On Thursday, I wasn't feeling much activity, so Brent demanded I go to the hospital to get checked out. At about 10 pm I get to the hospital and they did a Fern test, which came out negative and then did an ultrasound to check my AFI levels, which turned out to be 3.45, normal is 8 or above. At that time they admitted me to put me on an IV to get my levels up. The following day they did another ultrasound where my AFI level was 8.2, so excited they let me go home, however they wanted to check me the following day. The next day, I drove down to teh hospital at around 3 pm and they did another ultrasound where my AFI was up to 9.3 however my Fern test came out positive. Now they had to induce. At 8 pm they started to induce. They had me at the max on the potocin and I was just chillin, not dialating or having many contractions. At 3 am they decided to break my water and it was at that point that my contractions became very hard and very consistent. By the time I was ready for an epidural, the anthesiologist was on an emergency so I had to wait another hour for my epidural. This labor was by far one of the worst. I had every one and their mother checking me. Finally I got my epidural and I delivered at 10:37 am. Being that she was considered a premie, the NICU team was there but she turned out to weigh a healthy 6 lbs 10 oz and be 19 1/2 inches long. I got to hold her for a short time, where they took her to the nursery to be monitored. It is 5 pm and she is still being monitored but hopefully will be in our room in no time.

Hating Summer!

So last week Brent and I decided to go shopping for carpet and we found a good bargain for what we wanted. We went with it and purchased the carpet. Right after that our air conditioner decided to go down. It happened on a Monday and we had to wait til this weekend to get it fixed. At the same time, our sink faucet and garbage disposal decided break too. So a few hundred dollars later all was fixed. Until 5 hours later our a/c broke again! No one wanting to work on the weekend, a holiday weekend as well, we are stuck. On top of it, our carpet is being put in this Wednesday giving us only a week to clear everything out, paint and change some last minute things. Cleaning in 90 degree house, while being 8 mo prego and sick is not my idea fun! We have finally finished clearing everything out. We ended up with 10 bags of trash, 5 bags of salvation army, and about 3 bags of garage sale items. We stil have a lot of stuff, but at least we got rid of alot! I am praying for a miracle and someone to help us repair this a/c, but I am not counting on it. I can't wait to have my house back to normal with beautiful carpet and freshly painted walls and a working a/c:)
