Last week our little Presley got sick and when we took her to the doctors she had sinus infection, ear infection in both ears and bronchitis. Our little Journey also had a sinus infection, so both we were on antibiotics. Oh and also I was antibiotics for an infection in my finger which still isn't gone. So yesterday I notice Journey had broke out in hives. Not sure if it was a food allergy or allergy to the antibiotics, I took her to the doctors to have her checked out. The doctor said she had some intense hives and gave her a shot of steroids to take them down as well as a prescription for a week of oral steroids. Brent took her to the swimming pool last night where she got stung by a bee! Our Journey just can't get a break. Immediately her finger swelled. The next morning I had an appotinment down in Newport Beach and I noticed Journey was worse, it was now in her face. In about 15 minutes it made its way to her eye and started to swell, then she started coughing, then wheezing and retracting so I took her to the ER which just happened to be across the street from my doctors office, thank the Lord! The doctor gave her a breathing treatment to reduce the wheezing and ordered me to continue with the breathing treatments, the steroids and Benadryl. On our way home, Journey was complaining about her back saying owww! (Little side note, there wasn't many on her back when we were in the ER), as soon as we got home, Journey took off her shirt and she so swollen, her whole back looked like one big hive. The poor thing is itching like crazy and just looks like she is miserable. Now we know that Journey is allergic to Penicillen, Omnicef and bees! On a good note, Presley is doing great.
Her poor face. Her one eye and cheek was really swollen
This is actually a little better than it had looked except for her neck which was totally broken out.
Her back. If you click on the picture to enlarge it you can see how bad it was.
Her back from the side, you can just see the welt like hives:(
Journey's face and eye is so swollen here, my poor baby!
